ADVANCE NOTICE FROM THE RACE
WALKING SECRETARY : WALTER HILL
I am aiming to organise, with David Hoben’s help from VETS AC, a
come and try it race walk in Tilgate Park Crawley.
The provisional date is Saturday the 21st September at 2-00 pm.
The venue is perfect and will provide novice race walkers the
challenge of experiencing race walking on a safe and scenic
course. Two distances will be set to ensure all can participate.
Probably 3 and 6 miles. Please record this date in your dairy as
the event will be allocated the status of a MOB MATCH with VETS
AC.
Further updates with an entry form will follow soon.
I am hoping that it will be the inaugural event to celebrate
Jack Fitzgerald's life in sport (agreement will be requested
after his funeral). Walter Hill

SCVAC Marathon 2013 – Thanet
I invited all SCVAC marathon runners to email
me with their preferred choice between the Abingdon
Marathon and the Thanet Coastal Marathon. All
responses favoured Thanet, so we shall return there on
September 1st, and hope for the excellent weather we enjoyed
last year. Thanet is well organised, and offers an interesting
course with great sea views. It incorporates the Kent marathon
championships. Abingdon is too close to the BMAF Marathon at
Newcastle on October 27th. Good luck with your training!
